Goblin Slayer

3 Anime You Need to Binge Watch this Weekend

Are you afraid to get started on an anime series because maybe it is a daunting 900+ episode (cough, One Piece) or maybe it has multiple series that you just don’t know where to start?

Here are 3 anime that are less than 50 episodes, with one main series (for now) that you can surely fit into any schedule, regardless of time constraints.

  1. Death Note

    Death Note

    • Network: Nippon TV
    • Aired: Oct 4, 2006 -> Jun 27, 2007
    • Genre(s): Mystery, Psychological, Thriller
    • Total # of Episodes: 37
    • My Rating: 9.2/10

    Death Note is one of the best, if not THE best Thriller/Psychological anime to grace our tv screens and it should be one of the first you watch if you’re on a tight schedule. Light Yagami, a very intellectual and stellar student, stumbles across a notebook later known as the “Death Note”. He is slowly consumed with its power, at first being about to control it and by the end having to depend on it.

    The Death Note has a special power to which only Light is aware of for most of the series, and once he understands the devastation it can cause it gives Light this illusion that he has become somewhat of a God-like creature.

    At 37 episodes, this will go by fast and you’ll be left wanting more at the end of it. If you had to make time for this show, you’ll want to make time for more. However at this present moment there is no sequel or further episodes scheduled, so this will have to do!

    Start watching this thriller and one of the best anime’s ever by viewing our Death Note Series Watch Order!

  2. Goblin Slayer

    Goblin Slayer

    • Network: AT-X, Tokyo MX, Sun TV, BS11
    • Aired: May 25, 2018 – May 25, 2019
    • Genre(s): Action, Dark Fantasy, Adventure
    • Total # of Episodes: 12
    • My Rating: 7/10

    Let’s go huntin’ for Goblins! In this quick 12 episode series, we embark on a journey with a team of adventurers who had a rough start but quickly turn things around when they meet the Goblin Slayer. This band of adventurers were naive and ambushed on their first assignment at a nearby cave. The last member, a young Priestess with little to no experience, is surely looking down the barrel of her demise when the Goblin Slayer saves her, killing the nest of Goblins which had carried out the ambush.

    Most adventurers turn a blind eye to Goblin hunting assignments due to their lowly stature and seeming to be more hassle than reward. The Goblins are slowly spreading, raiding, and stealing women from camps in order to breed and multiple their disgusting species. The Goblin Slayer realizes this and it is his mission to kill every last one of them, no matter the bounty given.

    Grab your cape, put on your feathered cap, and get ready for a super fast 12 episode run of a bloody satisfying enjoyment where Goblins get cut to pieces for their vile and in-despicable actions.

  3. Hellsing Ultimate

    Hellsing Ultimate

    • Aired: January 2006 -> December 2012
    • Genre(s): Horror, Fantasy, Action
    • Total # of Episodes: 10
    • My Rating: 8.5/10

    Supernatural and ungodly powers? Check! Vampiric and devilish undertones? Check! Hellsing is a dark, vampire-based series based in the UK area during the 1930-1940’s era where Hitler was rising to power and there were many moving parts overseas. The Hellsing organization is in place to combat these super-natural forces that plague the citizens, including Alucard, their main and inconceivably power weapon of destruction. Integra, the head of the Hellsing family organization, commands Alucard as his master and together they forge through some seriously sticky situations.

    Between armies, world-domination, and super-natural beings and forces, Integra, Alucard, and the Hellsing organization have their hands full with keeping the world in the best possible shape they can. Some times thing’s done look as they seem and there is more than meets the eye.

    This 10 episode dark fantasy anime is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat, even if the episodes are a bit longer in the 40-50 min format. Be sure to check out the original Hellsing anime before this, that is of course, if you have time :).

    I highly recommend you check this one out! It’s a great and quick series, but you should probably watch the original Hellsing first (get started by checking out the watch orders here: Hellsing Series Watch Order It is pretty straightforward, however make sure you watch them in order so you can get the most out of the Ultimate version!
